Final Fantasy games have been highly popular since the release of Final Fantasy 1 for the Nintendo in 1987. Squaresoft is, to this day, still releasing new titles in the series 21 years after the first. The only Nintendo game released in the USA was Final Fantasy 1, but in Japan there was also a subsequent release of Final Fantasy 2 and 3 for the NES. I have compiled the full collection, playable on your computer, including number 2 and 3 translated into English.

Ever wonder why the first Final Fantasy released on Playstation was #7, but the last you can remember playing on Super Nintendo was #3 ? this is because of, in part, the two omitted games listed in the NES section. The first SNES Final Fantasy game released in the USA was #2, but this same game released in Japan was #4 (confused yet?). Final Fantasy 5 was never released in the USA, and #6 in Japan was coined #3 in the USA. The following is a complete collection of Super Nintendo Final Fantasy games playable on your computer, with #5 being translated into english.

Download Final Fantasy Snes Collection

Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP PIII 500Mhz Processor (similar AMD) or better with 128Mb Ram
Slower systems may try this launcher program to run the games. You still must download the collection.

Extra treat: The japanese version of Final fantasy 6 (though very similar to the USA version of Final fantasy 3 for SNES), had several differences. For starters, the game play was harder, and the Japanes were much more laxed in the text they allowed in video games. as a result, you may find some text, shall we say "shocking", such as sex scenes between characters. An American translation group translated the game so we could enjoy it as originally intended by Squaresoft of japan absent the USA censorship. Enjoy Final Fantasy 6(tce.tce) 2.2Mb. You may use the same program to run this as found in the SNES collection. Download makeff6.bat and place it in a folder alone with the above file (tce.tce). Double click the bat file, and This will convert it to a usable form. My ISP has a nasty habit of deleting files they don't like, and how could they possibly have a problem with a file named tce.tce? It works, trust me.

These games are still copyrighted by Squaresoft and Nintendo, but I am almost certain that anyone looking here does or has owned all the original cartridges made available in the USA. If so, you are allowed to own a backup game such as contained in these files. The games never made available in the USA should have been, so you could have bought them. This resolves that issue. Read instructions.txt file in each folder for proper operation. Have fun.
