WEED CONTROL!!

I got angora goats for weed control. I bought a doe and her to wethers, then was given Peaches, a Nigerian Dwarf/Angora cross. So I have four goats, 2 does and 2 wethers. I am planning on breeding the does this fall, since that will be free from the breeder I got them from.

Their names are Peaches (facing front), Strawberry (with the long horns), Sabino and Frio (hiding with just his head showing).

This is Sabino (front), Frio and Strawbery after shearing. They are browsing on the north lot, one of the biggest weed patches left. It is about 3/4 of an acre.

This is Peaches after she was sheared. See all the brown on her? Before I sheared her, she looked white with just a little bit of brown. Her fiber is brown at the base and white at the tips. Really pretty and soft, but felts easily as she has a cashgora coat, instead of an angora coat. Cashgora is soft and felts like cashmere, but is longer like angora. Some people say there is no market for it. I will keep this years shearing and spin it up for my self. I'm thinking if there is enough yarn, I'll make me a winter hat.
