Interested in Fell
ponies? Please read: Dear Visitor: Much of the material collected on this site was published via a Fell pony educational program which I initiated in the spring of 2002 during my two years+ as Liaison Officer to North America for our mother breed society in the UK, the Fell Pony Society (FPS). Along with serving as the Liaison Officer to NA for FPS, I was Vice-President for the Fell Pony Society and Conservancy of the Americas and also a founding member and Secretary for the Fell Pony Society of North America (FPSNA). I have made eight visits so far to the United Kingdom in an effort to better understand the Fell pony breed in its native environment. For approximately 5 years I owned a Fell gelding which I imported from England in 2000 - his nickname is Merlin. Although less involved at this point, I still have a deep & abiding concern for, and interest in, equine conservation in general and the future of the Fell breed in particular. Perhaps my most memorable moment was being mountain-rescued off of a Lake District fell (hill) in NW England ...but that's another story for another day... (Please note that the materials on this site span a long period of time so some of the contact information and data in them may be obsolete. Consider everything on this site to be copy written. Small quotes may be excerpted; larger quotes by permission only.) Thanks for visiting, Site updated: June 27, 2008 Fell pony gelding at the Kentucky Horse Park with replica British dumpcart - |
