The Fire Chief's Corner
Welcome to our new website! We are excited to show it off. Our newest Paramedic/Fire Training Officer has the knowledge and expertise to have made this website a reality! Our website displays our training meeting times and topics, our Board meeting date and times, and a monthly calendar of events.
Our district was formed in the late 1950's. With the growth of central Oregon, our call volumes have increased over the last few years to nearly 350 calls per year. We have a combination agency consisting of five full-time career staff and over 20 volunteers. We respond to structural fires, hazardous materials incidents, brush fires, and rescue calls within our fire district. Our fire resources include three structure engines, one heavy brush engine, one light brush engine, one pumper/tender, one command vehicle, and a snowmobile with rescue travois. We also have two advanced life support ambulances, that can be staffed with any combination of three paramedics, one nurse, two EMT-Intermediates, and four EMT-Basics, to respond to medical emergencies and motor vehicle crashes in our ambulance service area which includes portions of Highway 97 and Highway 58. In 2003 we opened a second station in the north end of our district to provide better coverage there and house apparatus. We are also an AirLife-FireMed member agency.
Our mission is to provide excellent life and property safety to the fire district and ambulance service area we serve.
If you have any questions, stop in for a visit, we will answer all your questions to the best of our ability!
