Spring 2007 White cherry trees planted. This is a new variety, which is supposed to be like Queen Annes but a little hardier. We’ll have to wait and see! Cherries expected by 2009. |
April 2007 Major rainstorm washes out road. Much to our surprise, part of the road through the orchards has turned into a canyon! Meanwhile the sand washed out of the ground has been deposited in the orchard, creating a nice beach look. Estimation for repair: $10,000. |
October 2006 Matt’s getting married! Matt & Jess tie the knot October 13th here on the farm! The vows are said on the ridge, and the party includes a pig roast and live band (Hair of the Dog—check them out, they’re great!). |

After a long struggle with cancer, Aunt Cheryl died on July 11, 2007. The last month, she just wanted to be with Uncle Dave, so he stayed with her while the rest of the family said good-bye on the phone and left them alone together. |
Good-bye Aunt Cheryl—we love you and miss you! |

August 2007. Cub Scouts tour the farm. We look forward to their return later for apple picking. |

Late August 2007. An overnight windstorm results in heavy damages. The losses in the orchards may have cost more, but the loss of the old trees lining the ridge was a truly sad sight. |

June 2008 White cherry trees produce a handful of cherries. They’re all split, but it’s a good sign for the future. Perhaps next year they’ll be old enough for a small harvest. |
July 2008 The Saturn peaches planted last year are growing well. It’s still a small crop, but we hope to get enough to offer some for sale for the first time. Just look at that shape! |
