their Spring/Summer San Pedro River/Owl Walks etc.
For more Info visit Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory Calendar of Events

  2. Following is a copy of Joe Woodley's, 24 Mar 08, email to the BIRDWG05 AZ/NM List Server:

Rick Romea and I have been leading bird walks at Gordon Lewis' property on; the San Pedro River
since the first of the year. This rich habitat has produced at least one new species every week.

    Today's highlight was a FOX SPARROW (Slate-colored).

Next Monday's walk will begin at 8:00 AM, but starting with the April 7 walk, the start time will be
    7:00 AM.

The meeting place is on the north side of Highway 92 just west of the San Pedro River at a gate
numbered 10663. If coming from the west, the turn is just after a rusty Quonset hut on your left.

Since this is private property, the only opportunity to bird this area is to join one of the weekly
    bird walks.

    Joe Woodley
    Hereford, AZ

and volunteers are not on site (which is most of the time these days) facilities are limited to seating
on the stone porch. The field station is on the westside of SR80 at the bottom of Hidden Meadow
Lane, which is exactly 2 miles North of the of the Mule Mountain Tunnel and 4.2 miles South of the

in Miller Canyon. Every action has its consequence and a principle is not a principle unless it costs you something.
I am not permitted to be your guide on the Beatty's property, regardless of where you are staying. I can, of course,
be your guide anywhere on the National Forest in Miller Canyon."
