         A HUMMINGBIRD HAVEN for the serious birder

Our Guest Ranch is nestled into the Huachuca mountain range at an elevation of 5800 ft.,
creating a unique environment for all kinds of nature to flourish. Since March 1967, we
have called this area home, and in May 1997 we decided to open it up to visitors to share
the many joys such natural beauty offers.

We quickly discovered that this one-of-a-kind wilderness area is a haven for an astounding
variety of hummingbirds, and in fact, have become best known for the countless viewing
opportunities our property presents.

While reportedly a birder's paradise, Beatty's Nature Retreat has many other attractions to
offer any visitor:

1. Hiking amidst the adjacent Miller Peak Wilderness Area on numerous, easily-reached
   National Forest trails, including the summit of Miller Peak.
   
   

2. The best views in the Huachucas, along with countless stunning natural sights, such
   as the gorgeous fall colors framing the San Pedro Valley.
   
   

3. The chance to spot a whole host of wildlife: including Ramsey Canyon Leopard Frogs,
   butterflies, coatis, javelina, white-tailed deer, not to mention our extensive yard list.
   
   

4. An on-site store offering 25 varieties of home-grown organic apples, locally-produced
   honey, farm-fresh eggs, delicious vegetables from our own bountiful garden (when in
   season), birding souvenirs and gifts, as well as a few basic necessities (snacks, sodas,
   water, etc.).
   
   

5. Peace and quiet in any one of our 6 cozy overnight accommodations surrounded by our
   10-acre apple orchard, Miller Creek and numerous ponds, and supplemented by a variety
   of comfortable camping options.
